Program Description

Master of Arts in Psychology programme is a two year degree programme, distributed in four semesters. The programme offers a broad and in-depth study of psychology as a discipline. Risk management, motivation and the function of mind, cognitive processes, conflict management, behaviours are some of the knowledge acquired in the M.A. (Psychology) programme. The major objective program is envisaged to provide an understanding about the discipline with special emphasis on the application of the different aspects of Psychology. The program provides a wide range of specialisation knowledge, creative synthesis and critical thinking. These skills are indispensable in many career fields. The syllabus under NEP-2020 is expected to enhance the level of critical thinking, research among students and maintain the high standards of Post Graduate program offered in the country.

Program Outcome

The M.A. Psychology curriculum is aimed at helping students not only to acquire a fundamental understanding of domain-specific ideas but also to improve overall interpersonal and leadership abilities. As this field is so widespread, job possibilities can be found in NGOs, rehabilitation centres, juvenile justice departments, educational institutions, government organisations, and also in sports industry. After earning an M.A. in Psychology, students can pursue Ph.D in Psychology or a related discipline, Which allow students to pursue higher-paying positions, broadening their horizons even further. Clinical Psychology and psychiatry are two other prominent courses in this discipline.
