SPIC MACAY
Spic Macay was organised at Sunbeam Women’s College Varuna. Famous flute player Pandit Rajendra Prasanna, tabla player Lalit Kumar & Flute player Pranjal Kumar. The event started with placing of lamp ceremony followed by felicitation by College Administration. His clarinet and flute playing captivated everyone sitting in the auditorium. The students also asked him many questions, which he answered with great sincerity.

SPIC MACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music & Culture Amongst Youth) organized a storytelling session under the Virasat series by Dr. Himanshu Bajpai is a famous storyteller & author of the book Qissa Qissa Lucknowa & recipient of Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar 2021 along with Dr. Pragya Sharma (Storyteller) with an intention to enrich the quality of formal education by sharing the life struggle of Rani Laxmibai – The Rani of Jhansi, as she was an epitome of courage & bravery.
Spic Macay 2019 at SWCV (Odissi Chapter) A dance drama genre of performing arts, Odissi was performed by Vidushi Sujata Mohapatra with her group at SWCV today. Inspired by the sculptures of temples, she gave a mesmerizing performance & encouraged students to stay connected with their roots and traditions of society. She was felicitated by Dr. Anupama Mishra, Principal, Sunbeam Varuna & Campus Head, Dr. Shalini Singh, Asst. Administrator, SWCV & Dr.Rajeev Singh, Principal, SWCV.
Sunbeam Women’s College, Varuna, witnessed the very first SPIC MACAY program of the college this year. Sunbeam Women’s College, Varuna hosted SPIC MACAY Sunbeam Chapter of “Qawwali” by Ustad Sarfaraz Chishti & Brothers.
The performance by Ustad Sarfaraz Chishti and the group kept the students engaged and mesmerized. They sang of the glory and mystery of the Almighty. The music was pleasant enough, punctuated by energetic bouts of virtuoso vocal call euthenics. The Director of Sunbeam Group, Mrs. Bharti Madhok honoured the artists and thanked SPIC MACAY for bringing up such rich cultural events to our college for enriching students’ knowledge base about Indian Heritage.
